Block Island ------Again

Of all the places on earth that I have been privileged to visit [not a few], this tiny three mile by six mile piece of a tiny little state remains right at the top of my list. So it was indeed a heart- warming experience to take my favorite person to my favorite place. These clickable photos may partly explain why.

These are pretty. I have never been to Block Island.

I see it is a quick run up the Atlantic by boat...I never knew it existed until reading your post. Thanks...

Kinda like to keep it a secret, but it keeps making the covers of travel mags and such.

The first time I landed there, years ago, I asked "which side of the road do you drive on?" because it looked SO different from where we took off from.

It is very popular with boaters, from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

As you know, I've come to love this place too. Most particularly in the off season. Little sad about the Bethany's Diner sign.

Perhaps it will return in the Spring, along with the tourists.

I read about Block Island years ago, in a magazine feature . Very good pictures of the area.
