A cute story about FIFI as related to me by one of their flight engineers many years ago: They were at a tour stop somewhere when an older gentleman, presumably of the Greatest Generation, was walking around FIFI with his entourage. He was telling them about his (supposed) exploits during WWII when he looked up on the side of the plane and said, "Yeah, back during the war I flew many of these...ah...F1-F1's" :)

We had two such, but they were in wheelchairs and I could not swear they had any idea what was happening. They (and I, and a few reporter-types) were supposed to fly to the Statue of Liberty and back, but for about three reasons, it did not happen.
