Thanks to you all. As it happens, we have just been handed an extra day to be together courtesy of air traffic at Philadelphia.

Where was that photo taken?

The shot was taken in Putnam County, NY. The waterfall is about a twelve minute walk from where my daughter and her family live.

She took it using her self-timer. She has actually amassed quite a stunning collection of photos of the pair of us over the time we have been taking pictures together. SO I have gradually learned not to gripe about the delay when she sets up her stuff to do this.

Well, certainly it's a - stunning photo - for me anyway. I love forests and I love water, perfect combo there, not to mention a handsome couple : )

I'm afraid we sometimes take these things for granted. It is good to look at them anew with the perspective of a desert dweller. Thanks.

Thanks! Me too. I am very reluctant to post photos of this sort on the 'net, but this one was too good not to share.

Echoing the other comments, that is a great shot. You two look rather spiffy there. Quite the setting as well.

You know Harpo, every time I look at the pic of the three of us in Memphis, I smile.

Indeed, the nearest views of anything like that are at least 150 miles away. There ARE veiws like that in AZ, just have to go up into the mountains to see them. I miss seeing things like that so much, that if my money basket ever falls out of the sky, I want to install a pond with a waterfall and accompanying water plants and such.
